What I am Fighting For

In New York, the unquestioned popularity of urban spaces such as Riverside Park, the High Line, Brooklyn Bridge Park and others has demonstrated the incredible drawing power and civic value these public areas can have. And although Southern Brooklyn doesn’t currently possess such a space, I want to change that.

Government must work for our democracy to work. We have to earn the public’s trust each and every day to show that government can be efficient, effective, and functional.

Creating Trust & Accountability in Government

In New York, the unquestioned popularity of urban spaces such as Riverside Park, the High Line, Brooklyn Bridge Park and others has demonstrated the incredible drawing power and civic value these public areas can have. And although Southern Brooklyn doesn’t currently possess such a space, I want to change that.

The number of times we’ve seen government officials abuse their positions and betray the public’s trust are too many to count. Government officials are rightfully held to a higher standard, because they answer to the public.

Making Strong Public Ethics
the Norm

In New York, the unquestioned popularity of urban spaces such as Riverside Park, the High Line, Brooklyn Bridge Park and others has demonstrated the incredible drawing power and civic value these public areas can have. And although Southern Brooklyn doesn’t currently possess such a space, I want to change that.

At a time when demagogues and political leaders are trying to upend our electoral process and tear apart democratic norms, it’s more important than ever that New York continues to lead the way to protecting and enhancing our democracy by strengthening voting laws.

Electing Leaders
We Can
Trust

Our government has the power to do monumental good for the lives of every day New Yorkers. But a government’s power to do good is only as strong as the trust that people place in their government. When government fails to live up to its own promises and expectations, we just give people a reason to believe government can’t work for them. I am committed to making sure that government works for all New Yorkers, and that we rebuild and restore trust in our government institutions and strengthening our voting laws so that we can deliver on the good that we know is possible.
