Supporting Small Businesses and Creating Good Paying Jobs
Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy comprising ninety-eight percent of New York State businesses and employing more than half of New York’s private sector workforce. Our government can and should do more to support entrepreneurs, help businesses grow, and create good paying jobs.
My plan to ensure economic opportunity for all includes:
Helping small businesses grow by lowering the sales tax on items sold at small businesses to encourage more shoppers to shop local.
Supporting a living wage, so no one who works full-time has to live in poverty
Creating a local regional business council for Southern Brooklyn to support economic development, immigrant owned businesses, innovation, and bring 21st century jobs to Southern Brooklyn.
Encouraging new startups and freelancers to grow and thrive in Southern Brooklyn by developing local co-working spaces.
