STATEMENT FROM ANDREW GOUNARDES IN RESPONSE TO MARTY GOLDEN’S FAILURE TO REPUDIATE BROOKLYN GOP INVITATION TO SEBASTIAN GORKA
Marty Golden’s statement in response to community outcries for his handpicked Republican Party leadership inviting Sebastian Gorka to give the keynote address at their annual gala is shockingly ignorant of our community’s values.
Shame on him for ignoring the real issue here.
This is not a matter of simply disagreeing with a speaker who holds different views than you. Golden’s failure to repudiate Gorka and his anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, neo-Nazi views is a slap in the face of every single person in our community.
If Marty Golden expects us to believe he is not a “party planner,” and has no control over the decisions of the Brooklyn Republican Party, I have a bridge to sell you.
